How to Choose a Single-Head Cold Press Oil Machine

Choosing a Single-Head Cold Press Oil Machine
Not every producer needs a multi-head industrial line. For many workshops, farms, laboratories and growing oil businesses, a single-head screw press is the more practical place to start. The right model mainly depends on your raw material, hourly capacity target, electrical supply and daily production plan.
One of the most common questions we receive is simple: “Which cold press oil machine is suitable for my production?”
The answer is rarely based on motor power alone. A producer processing a few kilograms per hour has very different needs from a workshop running all day. In the same way, a business with 220–240 V single-phase electricity should not choose a machine that requires an industrial three-phase supply.
This guide focuses only on our single-head seed oil press machines: the 1500W, 2200W, 7500W and 11000W models. Multi-head continuous oil lines are a separate category and will be covered in another guide.
Start with Your Real Production Need
Choosing a machine that matches your actual daily production is usually more useful than simply choosing the largest model. Consider the seed you will process, how many hours you plan to operate and what electrical supply is available in your facility.
Single-Head Models at a Glance
| Model | Typical Capacity | Power Supply | Best Fit |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1500W | 7–15 kg/h | 220–240 V Single Phase | Entry-level, laboratory and small production |
| 2200W | 15–25 kg/h | 220–240 V Single Phase | Growing workshops and commercial production |
| 7500W | 30–40 kg/h | 380 V Three Phase | Industrial continuous production |
| 11000W | 60–80 kg/h | 380 V Three Phase | Higher-capacity industrial production |
These capacities are typical working ranges. Actual output changes according to the seed, moisture, preparation method, oil content and machine settings.
1500W Cold Press Oil Machine – Entry-Level Model
The 1500W model is usually the most suitable starting point for producers who want professional mechanical pressing without moving immediately into industrial production.
It is useful for small businesses, farms, laboratories, product-development work and producers who want to test different oil-bearing seeds in manageable quantities.
The main advantage is its compact size and single-phase electrical requirement. For users who do not yet need high hourly output, it offers a practical way to begin.
2200W Cold Press Oil Machine – Medium-Level Model
The 2200W model is the natural step up when the 1500W capacity is not enough but three-phase industrial infrastructure is not available or not yet necessary.
It is suitable for producers with regular commercial production, specialty oil businesses and workshops that want more capacity while keeping a relatively compact single-head system.
For many small and medium-sized producers, this is a balanced model because it increases production capacity without moving directly to a larger industrial machine.
7500W Cold Press Oil Machine – Industrial Model
The 7500W model is where the single-head range moves into industrial production. It is designed for businesses that need longer operating periods and a higher hourly throughput than compact single-phase machines can provide.
This model makes sense when production has become a regular industrial activity rather than occasional small-batch work. Before selecting it, the facility should have suitable three-phase electrical infrastructure.
11000W Cold Press Oil Machine – Industrial Model
The 11000W model is the highest-capacity single-head option in this group. It is intended for producers who need significantly more throughput while still preferring a single pressing head instead of a multi-head oil line.
This model is more appropriate when the required daily production is already substantial. At this level, raw-material logistics, seed preparation, filtration and downstream handling should also be planned together with the press.
Which Single-Head Model Should You Choose?
A simple way to think about the range is to match the machine to the scale of your production:
- 1500W: starting a new production, laboratory work or smaller daily volumes.
- 2200W: regular commercial production with higher output but single-phase electricity.
- 7500W: industrial production with three-phase infrastructure and continuous operation.
- 11000W: higher-volume industrial production where a single-head system is still preferred.
Raw material matters just as much as the model. A machine producing one capacity with sunflower seed may produce a different capacity with black seed, coconut, grape seed or another material. This is why machine selection should always start with the seed and the required daily output.
When Does a Single-Head Machine Stop Being Enough?
There is a point where increasing the size of one press is no longer the most practical answer. Producers who need much higher continuous throughput may benefit more from a multi-head oil line.
Those systems combine several pressing heads into one coordinated production line and are better suited to larger industrial capacities. We will cover that type of machine separately.
Conclusion
Not every oil producer needs the largest possible machine. A well-matched single-head press can be easier to operate, easier to integrate into the production area and more appropriate for the actual amount of raw material available.
Start with three questions: What will you press? How many kilograms per hour do you really need? And what electrical supply is available? Once these are clear, choosing between the 1500W, 2200W, 7500W and 11000W models becomes much easier.
